Capacities and maintenance intervals on these pages are compiled from manufacturer owner’s manuals and service literature and checked by hand rather than scraped from other sites. Recalls and technical service bulletins are pulled live from the NHTSA databases each time you load a vehicle page, summarized and linked back to the official record instead of republished.

Always confirm a capacity against the manual for your exact vehicle before you rely on it. Manufacturers change fluid specifications mid-generation, and the same model year can carry different capacities depending on engine, transmission, drivetrain, and trim. Treat what you find here as the starting point that saves you an hour, not as a substitute for the plate under your hood.

Are the recalls shown here current?
Yes. Open recalls come from NHTSA at the moment you load the page rather than from a stored copy, so they reflect what the agency currently lists for that vehicle. For a result tied to your specific vehicle rather than the model range, run your VIN through the lookup tool.
Does a recall repair cost me anything?
Safety recalls are repaired free of charge at a franchised dealer for that brand, regardless of the age of the vehicle or whether you are the original owner. You do not need to have bought the car there. Emissions recalls follow similar rules. A service campaign or extended warranty is a different thing and may have limits.
Why is my vehicle not listed?
The vehicle library is built one model at a time, because each page is assembled from manufacturer documentation rather than generated automatically. More are added regularly. In the meantime, the trouble code, component, and cost sections all apply regardless of what you drive.
How do I find my VIN?
It is on a plate visible through the windshield at the driver’s side corner of the dashboard, on a sticker in the driver’s door jamb, and on your registration and insurance documents. All three should match.
What is the difference between a recall and a technical service bulletin?
A recall addresses a safety defect or an emissions non-compliance and the manufacturer must fix it at no cost. A technical service bulletin is guidance from the manufacturer to its technicians about a known issue and the correct repair procedure. A bulletin is not a free repair, but quoting the bulletin number to a shop can save considerable diagnostic time.
