Join the MotorCodex Team
MotorCodex was built by people from the trade — and it gets better the same way a good shop does: experienced people checking each other’s work. The Team is how that happens. No fees, no gatekeeping; just people who care about getting it right.
1 Confirm & correct
Spot a spec that doesn’t match your service information? A torque value, a capacity, a procedure that’s off for a specific year? Tell the team. Every correction is reviewed against the sources and fixed fast — corrections are our favorite messages.
2 Share what actually fixed it
The gap between “possible causes” and “what it actually was” is real-world experience. If a code page lists the textbook causes but your 200k-mile fleet experience knows the real one for a specific engine — that knowledge belongs on the page, credited to the team.
3 Watch the field
New recalls landing, a TSB making the rounds, a pattern failure showing up in bays everywhere — team members flag what’s emerging so MotorCodex covers it while people are searching for it.
Who the team is for
DIYers who’ve learned their own vehicles deeply. Mobile mechanics who see everything. Shop and dealership technicians. Service advisors and warranty people who know how the paperwork side really works. If you’ve ever fixed something right, you qualify.
How to join today
Email the team — tell us a bit about your background and what you’d like to contribute. A full community home (forum) is on the roadmap; right now the team runs on direct contact, and every contributor helps shape what it becomes.
Everything contributed is reviewed by the editorial team before it changes a page — that’s how we keep the information trustworthy for everyone.
